We still don’t have a couch. We found one we wanted, sat down to work out whether it would make it up the lift, and the answer was no. Better to know beforehand, but it’s a lot of measuring and head-scratching for a disappointment.
So we built the calculator we wanted while we were doing it by hand. Enter the interior dimensions of the lift cabin and the three sides of whatever you’re trying to move, and it tells you straight away whether it fits, and in which orientation.
It doesn’t stop at the easy check. If nothing fits flat, it sweeps the object through every tilt angle and reports the smallest angle that works — using the full bounding box, so a chunky board never gets told it “fits diagonally” when it physically can’t rotate. You can also cap the result by the door opening when the entry is narrower than the cabin, and there’s a 3D view so you can see the fit rather than take our word for it.
Results update as you type, every set of measurements has a shareable link, and you can save the lifts you keep measuring against. Available in English and Dutch at lift-object-calculator.pages.dev.
